Description

The HAY Nelson Bell Bubble Pendant Lamp by George Nelson has a broad, bell-shaped silhouette with a softly ribbed surface. Its lightweight steel-wire frame is coated in translucent polymer, allowing the shade to glow when lit.

The extra-large form gives the pendant a substantial presence above a dining table or within a generous living space, while the pale shade keeps its appearance light.

Good design, done properly.

George Nelson

Designer: George Nelson

George Nelson (1908–1986) was an American architect, writer and industrial designer and one of the defining figures of mid-century modern design. Trained at Yale, Nelson combined architecture with a belief that design should respond intelligently to social and technological change. His influential work includes the Nelson Bubble Lamps, first developed in the late 1940s and produced for Herman Miller from the 1950s, now available in Europe through HAY.
